Tagging, Pricing, and Selling Your Items

Tagging Clothing Items
  • All items need to be clean and wrinkle free. Items in pristine condition sell much faster and at a higher price point.
  • Items must be hung on wire hangers. Please do not send onesies and sleepers in zipped bags.
  • Outfits sold in sets often sell better in smaller sizes. When hanging sets, hang the shirt and then flip the hanger over hanging the pants the same way where both are visible for the buyer to check.
  • Sizes 6 and up sell better in separates unless it is a matching outfit.
  • If your item has matching accessories, please put them in  ziplock bag sealed with tape and attach it to the hanging item.
  • Putting clear packing tape over your safety pins will help to decrease tag swapping and alert people checking out that the tag has been switched.
  • When entering your descriptions, try to be as descriptive as possible using brand names and recognizable features. Tags that say "book" or 'pants" will likely not get re-matched if the tag comes loose.

Tagging Other Items

  • When tagging shoes, make sure the shoes are secured together using ribbon or small zip ties and that the tag is fastened securely to the shoes. Shoes need to be cleaned and have minimal scuffing or wear.
  • For larger items, use heavy duty packing tape to secure your tag to your item. Other types of tape will not hold up for the entire sale. Do not place tape over the barcode. Also please make sure if you tie your tag onto your item using ribbon that your ribbon is tied securely and the hole punched in your tag will not be easily torn.
  • All large items need to be assembled and cleaned before drop off.
  • Items with small parts need to be put in a ziplock bag and taped with clear packing tape to the item.
  • Puzzles and games need to have all pieces. Wooden puzzles need to either be wrapped or secured so that the pieces do not fall out.
  • Books and videos may be sold in sets. Please make sure all items are secured together with the tag on the outside. Painters tape is good for taping tags on books.
Pricing Guidelines

Pricing Items

  •  As a Consignor, you set the price for your items. A good rule of thumb is to sell items at 50%-75% off the retail price. Items that are new or never used could sell at a higher price, but remember to think about how much you would pay for an item. We want you to be able to sell as much as possible, so price your items to move.

  • We suggest selecting the discount option for 50% price day during the tagging process in order to maximize your selling. We know you put a lot of work into tagging and preparing your items and we want to send you home with a check instead of left over items that didn’t sell.

Helpful Tips for Selling Your Items

  • When preparing your clothes make sure they are washed and ironed with all buttons buttoned and zippers zipped. This will give your item a newer appearance and a better chance of selling.

  • Price accordingly. Keep in mind that there will be similar if not identical items that you might be selling and you want to be comparable on your pricing so your item sells.

  • When tagging your items, make sure to check them in natural light to see stains that might not show up otherwise.

Printing Tags

  • Lollitots Consignment uses an online tagging system which allows you to print tags with barcodes for your items. The online system allows an easier check out process and helps us keep better track of your items that sell.

  • All tags must be printed on white 60-67 lb. cardstock paper. Regular printer paper is not durable enough to last.
  • Print with black ink only and make sure your printer is set to print on normal quality.
  • Make sure that your barcodes print clearly and are not smudged. Spotted and/or smudged tags will not scan and causes checkout wait times to increase due to typing in barcodes.
  • Items must be priced in whole dollar increments. Nothing should be less than $1.00.
  • Discounting- On the last day of the sale, items will be sold at 50% off. You can choose whether or not an individual item will be sold at 50% off when creating your tags. We highly recommend discounting your items at 50% off to have a better chance of them selling on the last day.
  • Donating- You can choose to donate any items that do not sell by clicking on the donate option when tagging. You may choose to donate some items and not others. All items that are donated will go to local charities or be sold in our Dollar Dash benefiting local charities.
  • Once you have printed your tag, do not write on the tag.  If you choose to make changes, you must reprint a new tag.
  • Do NOT shrink tags.  Make sure you are printing your tags in landscape mode for full size tags.
